The concept for this piece was inspired by The Opening from Kenny Wheeler's album 'Music for Large and Small Ensembles', which is a short piece that introduces a 7-part suite. I was particularly influences by Wheeler's use of Norma Winestone's wordless vocals on the album and so I incorporated this sound.
