Her Place - for solo viola

Listen to the first recording of Jenna's 2014 composition for solo viola, Her Place. The piece is dedicated to Jenna's Mum, who spent a number of years in the 1970s living and playing traditional fiddle music in the Shetland Islands. When Jenna began composing the piece the sounds of Shetland fiddle music which she had grown up hearing her mother play subconsciously worked their way into the music. Fresh from the recording studio, Divergence Jazz Orchestra will perform new material from their upcoming album release. The performance will include the premiere of new pieces by Jenna Cave and Brendan Champion, as well as music by Luke Davis, Miroslav Bukovsky and Paul Murchison.
